Spasticity: There's no 100% cure.  Most effective treatment I am aware of is a medication called Baclofen (lioresal), that is dosed as 10-20 mg 3 times a day. For more severe spasms there are surgical releases or nerve eradication procedures.

Maybe: If the spinal cord becomes compressed or damaged by progressive degeneration, then surgery is usually mandatory to prevent further damage.  If the myelopathy is due to problems such as ms or underlying medical problems, surgery is not anticipated to benefit.  Knowing the underlying cause, allows therapeutic decision making.

There are surgical: Options, such as tendon transfers. There are physicians at tgh that i know can do this. However, this will not correct the myelopathy, it will only ease the pain from the spasticity. It may not improve function as well. Have you tried Botox injections? They are very useful with spasticity of you have not tried yet.

Discuss with doc: You can discuss this with the doctor caring for you during your pregnancy. This is not a typical drug people use during pregnancy. You and your doctor will discuss the benefits vs the risks.

MRI : If your have cervical disc spurs you have arthritis in your neck. There could also be cervical disc disease. Obtain an MRI and consult with a pain doctor to see if facet injections or an epidural steroid injection could be beneficial.

Stop using the packs: The heat has increased the circulation in the area that the hot packs was on where you had the muscle spasms and the increased blood flow caused the violet patches. They should go away.

Skin patches: You may have burned your skin. Put aloe vera containing cream or gel. This usually soothes the skin and relieves unpleasant sensation.

Probably unrelated: A stroke is brain damage caused by blockage of blood vessels supplying brain tissue or by bleeding. Muscle spasm does not cause stroke. Hope you are recovering; wish you well.

Circulation increase: Almost like a burn but temporary. It will go away. Apply ice and stop using the hot packs.

Yes: Anything which irritates the skin should be avoided.  Why can't you just use a regular heating pad and perhaps even an ice pad?  It this has been present for 2 months, you  should consult an orthopedist specialized in the spine to make sure nothing more serious may be going on.
