Should not be: Cervical cerclage should not affect/interfere with the ability to reach climax. It maybe emotionally inhibitted--i.e. By having a cerclage in place, you might be worrying that relation may injure it etc...Which in turn may have negative effect on your orgasm point etc...Otherwise, the cerclage itself should not. Sex is safe : Masturbation and orgasm are generally safe in pregnancy. Many Obgyns like to use sonograms to monitor the cervical length in incompetent cervix patients with a cerclage. This is one tool to help monitor who is at higher risk. Consider discussing with the Obgyn treating your pregnancy.

Cerclage stitch: A cerclage is often done with a type of suture called Prolene. It is very sharp like chicken wire. I think your partner would find vaginal penetration very unpleasant. Typically there are no restrictions regarding other sexual activity in patients with a cerclage. You will have to get clearance from your doctor if their are unique circumstances regarding your specific pregnancy.
