hi, i am a male 25, i have slightly swollen lymph node in the right side of my neck for the past 2 years. is there any cause for concern?

Lymph node.: By your description and by the amount of time that this node has been there, it’s probably fine. Although technically speaking, the only way to know with certainty would be to remove it and send it to a laboratory for pathologic analysis.

Monitoring Centers: The lymphatic system absorbs/carries things too big to go into arteries/veins like bacteria eaten by white cells and digested food. Lymph nodes "taste" the lymph to see if anything bad is there like bacteria, viruses, cancers, etc.  When it detects a problem, it alerts the immune system and they enlarge in response to inflammation when they react. If no problem, they shrink. Biopsy for concerns.

i've had a swollen round lymph node in my neck for years. no pain and it's moveable when i touch it. is it a cause for concern? it's the size of a dime

Probably no: If you had it for years and has not grown it is probably a reactive lymph node. Usually the jugodigastric lymph node which is a sentinel lymph node fro the same side tonsil. Have a dr check it out.

Usually inflammation: Swollen lymph nodes in the neck are the sign of some form of pathology.  Nodes don't enlarge spontaneously.  When there is a malignancy of the oral cavity that spreads to lymph nodes they enlarge, become matted, and for the most part fix to jugular vein. 
Painful nodes are the sign of inflammation such as oral cavity or pharynx unassociated with  tumor. Antibiotics may be necessary for control.

Lymphadenopaty neck: An infection in that area needs to be ruled out. Need to be examined personally by your doctor.

May need a biopsy: How do you know its a lymph node? It could just be a little benign fat tumor called a lipoma. Your doctor should palpate it a decide whether it needs to be biopsied.

Infection: Swollen lymph nodes are usually a result of an infection. The lymph nodes swell because they are part of the immune systems attempt to fight off an infection. Different lymph nodes protect different parts of the body. If a swollen node persists, is red or very tender, or if it keeps getting bigger, have your child checked by your pediatrician.
