Sweat gland: The armpit with arm down is a partially closed space prone to infections. The skin here has sweat glands and sebaceous glands which can get secondarily infected from sweat.  Use electric razor to remove hair and then deodorant.  Hidradenitis or infection from sweat glands is not uncommon

See Dr: Sounds like either folliculitis or hidradenitis, depending on severity--both of which need treated after evaluation by a dr / urgent care.

Early abscess?: It sounds like an early abscess or collection of bacteria.  Could be caused by razor if you shave and then trapped bacteria.  Try warm wash cloth to arm pit but get it seen if worsens.  They sometimes need drainage.

Different options: That area has a lot of things in it both in the skin and below it.  Sweat glands, hair follicles and skin cysts as well as lymph nodes, fatty tissue, vessels, tendons and other things.  Is the lump growing, inflamed, painful, painless, draining, recurrent or constant, moveable or fixed...?  Each of these (and many more) will provide your doc the answers as to what it is and what needs to be done.

Dermatology : hey ask your physician to have you see a dermatologist to see if they can make a diagnosis about the armpit. I don't believe the other left Trunk symptoms are related.

Likely infection: What you describe is likely an infection of the hair follicle called folliculitis. This can happen if dried sweat stays around too long and can also be started initially by just an irritation to the area by the deodorant used. Warm compresses to the area may help. Stop using the deodorant. You may need an antibiotic . See your MD for diagnosis, recommendations and treatment.

Multiple, including:: a Shoulder; A Neck or Upper T. Spine, skin or deeper tissues causes: from any nerve, bone, lung, lining of chest cavity. Some skin causes would include an Infection of sweat glands, or around the hair there.
If its occurring randomly, take some Aleve or Tylenol (acetaminophen)  for a week or so. 
If it persists or is getting worse, see your PCP.
