Cheek bite for one: One cause can be a cheek bite that caused bleeding below the tissue, but not enough of a bite to cause a laceration or tear so that the blood leaked out into your mouth.  Another reason could be a blue nevus.  You should see a dentist to have the spots evaluated and then see if any treatment is needed.

You need: to have your blood tested ...suggest Liver Function tests and Complete Blood Count including Platelet count!

Google Cushing's and see if he looks like any of the images. Have him see a Dr for evaluation.  Does not need to go to ER.  Maybe Drug store walk in clinic?

could low dose asa therapy cause you to bruise more easily and to develop purple spots on skin? i am also on hrt and lotrel (amlodipine and benazepril) for hypertension.

Yes: That is a common effect of low dose Aspirin due to the inhibition of blood platelets. If your hypertension is well controlled it can still happen but is more likely if not controlled.  As one gets older the skin gets thinner and capillaries get more fragile and tear easier which makes these bruises appear more often.

It sounds like it's time to be seen for your annual physical, and to address these concerns with her/him. After the exam, s/he will know what other tests to order. You may want to have your vitamin d3, and micronutrient level checked as well.

Insect bite: Can be dry skin , insect bite, inflamed hair follicular, allergy to shampoo, etc. Check with dermatologist if not resolved.
