Unusual: It's more common with combination hormones, especially with the higher dose pills, and of course in pregnancy. I've not seen it with Mirena (levonorgestrel) since the amount of  systemic hormone (amount in your body's circulation) is very small.  Make sure you're not pregnant and check with your Doc if you notice more darkening pigmentation.  Take care.

Hard to say: If u ovulate irregularly u may have high testosterone and elevated insulin.  Otherwise it is difficult to determine especially if it's the only place that is getting darker.  Good luck, but doesn't sound like a disease process, wt gain can be correllated with high Insulin and darkening pigment.

Linea Nigra: is not a sign of pregnancy. It can appear with hormonal changes, ovarian or adrenal problems, use of certain ontraceptives.
