A burr cell: Is a red blood cell with an irregular cellular membrane.  It is associated with a change in the lipid (fat) content of the membrane, often in the setting of liver disease.

Means nothing: Burr cells are an artifact of how the smear was pushed when it was made. It is simply a technical note for the lab folks. If she is otherwise healthy, ignore it.

Not normal: Both calprotectin and ESR are measures of inflammation.   Since your child's doctor has already started some testing, I encourage you to continue the evaluation.  It sounds like your child has been quite ill, and I hope she improves soon.

Not normal: Elevated CRP and ESR suggest an inflammatory process.  With a history of pneumonia and adenoidectomy, it sounds like your child has had sigificant illness.  With poor weight gain, both GI and Immune dysfunction should be evaluiated by your child's doctor.

FTT: The labs you post do not suggest anything that jumps right out.  For a 3 y/o top normal for IgA and calprotectin, burr cells are not very diagnostic and can be from poor technique.  Unfortunately it looks as if watch,wait more testing in order. Good luck.

Not necessarily: Hopefully this has been decided  by your parents before it is necessary . That is what a will is for. Parents usually choose the child who they feel should be in charge and that may or may not be the oldest. Being firstborn doesn't rest that responsibility on one just by virtue of birth order...Unless you are an only child.
