what is the definition or description of: infliximab allergy?

Infliximab allergy: In the true since of the word, it is better to say infliximab reaction. The "allergic type" reactions can occur because a large amount of protein is being given IV in a short period of time. Patients may experience shortness of breath, itching, wheezing, and a rash.  In rare cases patients may experience a decrease in blood pressure.  Most rheumatologist give medications before given the infusion to help mitigate the side effects.

how come i get so tired and week after my remicade (infliximab) infusion? i also feel kinda sick. what is my body doing to cause this?

Your body is working: This is entirely normal after a Remicade (infliximab) infusion.  The Remicade (infliximab) is an antibody and it's job is to go around and help destroy things in your body you don't want there.  It's similar to what your body does when you have a virus and how that makes you feel sick as well - it means your immune system is working!

Get checked: Neurologic problems have occurred with Remicade (infliximab) but it is more important to rule out other causes which could be more serious and are potentially reversible. Call your physician immediately.

Maybe: Sometimes weight change can occur including weight gain. You and your rheumatologsit  will need to develop your goals to help avoid this.

See details: First of all, an iron deficiency anemia is not related to Remicade (infliximab). Avascular nevrosis will not cause low iron levels. However, active RA can and it is related to active inflammation.

No not typically.: If you have uc and are receiving remicade, (infliximab) it may be the disease.  I have not had patients with this side-effect.

on remicade, (infliximab) can constantly have my menstrual cycle cause issues? i stay nauseous, hurt in joints and muscle severely. this can't be normal right?
