: A newborn delivered vaginally during a first outbreak of herpes is at high risk. After the first outbreak is gone, a baby delivered vaginally later on has much less risk and if the docs know of the potential risk ahead of time the risk can be minimized further. If you develop it &amp; you may not, treatments to suppress outbreaks are available. You can live life and thrive.

All sex is OK: When one member of a couple has HPV, it can be assumed the other has been repeatedly exposed and probably infected. At that point, there is no need to stop having sex of any kind -- vaginal, anal, oral. Even if you have or get oral HPV, it very rarely leads to cancer or any serious problem of any kind. No worries -- go ahead with unprotected sex of whatever type gives pleasure to both of you.

You should: check with your gyn to see if there are any anatomic or medical issues for your symptoms.  If there are no organic causes, perhaps referral to a psychiatrist or psychologist might help.  But check with your gyn first.

Evaluation: There are several causes of sexual dysfunction. Start with your obgyn to determine if your cause is a physical issue. If your exam is normal they may want to screen you for depression. If the issue seems more related to you life circumstances and your relationship then they may suggest seeing a sex therapist. There are many causes of this complex issue
