dear doctors,
i have worsening urethritis on antibiotics, tests have shown c. albicans but no fluconocazole has been used. is it possible that i have a misdiagnosed candida auris? how would candida auris appear in tests?

Candida urethriits?: Candida albicans (and other candida species) is often carried in the genital area and isn't necessarily abnormal. However, there are no reports of C. auris genital infection. Candida is a rare cause of urethrits, but if your doctor is confident you have it, I see no reason not to try treatment with fluconazole. But don't worry about C. auris. Good luck.
