Boys and Testicles: Cancer does not happen till one is over age 26. The age range of risk is ages 27 to 32 in general.  One should be feeling for anything that is different than a smooth almond shape to the testicle wether one is standing or laying down.

Accepted Answer

Varies: Some men who start checking discover their epididymis or appendix of the testis and mistake it for a possible cancer -- it's good they're checking. The percentage of testicular solid masses not related to trauma that are malignant is quite high, and for each individual mass, it's either 0% or 100%. Best have any new mass examined.

i feel pain in my left testicle, what could it be? i've tried checking for lumps but nothing unusual yet. can it be testicle cancer?

Infection?: Pain in your testicles is more likely due to an infection than cancer (especially if you don't feel any lumps), even though testicular cancer is more likely in those &lt;40yo than over. However, testicular pain can also be due to torsion or twisting of the testes in such a way as to cut off blood supply (never a good thing). So if pain persists, go see your family doc. Good luck!

Get seen now: If it's a new mass in your scrotum and you don't know what it is, get with your physician without delay. Don't try to second-guess odds.

Yes: While a lump on the testicle could be a benign finding, your age is absolutely an indication for further testing. While hydrocele and varicocele are common, you do not want to miss a testicle cancer in this age group. Go see your doctor.

Epididimitis: Could be cause1 i don't know how long "ages" is , but see your pcp or urologist.

Testicle lump: Testicle US may  give better idea. Is it painful? Changing in size? Any history of trauma?

Maybe: It's hard to say without doing an exam.  You may be just noticing normal structures, but varicose veins can frequently occur in this region (varicocoeles).  This may also need an ultrasound if your doctor thinks it's needed. Btw, kudos on doing self exams!

Not to worry: The lumps that you feel are probably part of your normal anatomy. 30 years is long enough to be confident that they are benign. It is great that you are paying attention to your health.

i have a small lump on the side of my testicle. the lump feels like it's on the outer layers of my testicle or the tunica albuginea. the lumps also gotten smaller. how can i tell if its a tunica cyst or something els like cancer?

: It is not cancer if it is on the outer layer and gotten smaller. For definitive answer see a Urologist and have her/him teach you proper testicular self examination and do it periodically.
