Unlikely thrush: As an adult it is very rare to acquire thrush.  It is seen in adults typically only if they are immunocompromised- receiving chemotherapy, etc.  This may not be thrush and i suggest you have a doctor take a look to be sure.

Not usually: Oral thrush in an adult usually means some compromise in immunity.  The microbes that cause it are actually normal flora.

Potentially.: Thrush is an infection of the oral cavity caused by yeast (candida). Most individuals with a healthy immune system have good resistance to yeast infections, so kissing is usually safe. But there can be confounding factors. Steroids such as oral Prednisone or inhaled steroids for asthma; numerous antibiotics (oral or iv) can predispose to yeast infections. Clearly hiv/chemo patients are more prone.

: Thrush which is yeast normally lives in the month in a healthy individual. When you get thrush there is usually a reason and often related to your underlying health or taking antibiotics. Once he is treated and the visible signs of thrush are gone then there is no problem for you. If you are completely healthy, there likely would not be a problem all along, however.

: Were you exposed through oral sex to a person with genital HSV2? If so you may eventually erupt around your mouth. You would then be able to spread it through kissing.
