: The average risk of HSV2 from a single exposure is under one chance in a thousand for vaginal sex, even lower with condom use; and also low for oral sex. Testing is not recommended at all after such exposures, in absence of symptoms that suggest a new HSV infection. Combining the low risk of infection plus your negative IgG result, there is no chance you were infected. No more testing needed.

HSV (Herpes simplex virus) PCR assay is the preferred test for detecting HSV from sores on genitalia.  
Herpangina manifests as small blistery lesions inside the mouth and  is often associated with fever and caused by Coxsackie virus.

Herpes: Yes. Herpes virus is contagious   virus can be shed without any evident active lesions. In particular if vesicles are present the virus is highly contagious . The chances would be decreased if he is on suppressive therapy with an anti herpes virus medication such as valtrex (valacyclovir).

Genital or oral sex: Genital herpes due to HSV1 is not commonly spread at all, a lot less than HSV2. Outbreaks and asymptomatic viral shedding are infrequent. But transmission is possible by intercourse (genital to genital) or oral sex (genital to mouth). GH doesn't cause leg pain or give "prickly sensations" -- maybe rarely just before an outbreak, but never the only symptom and never lasting more than 1-2 days.

Oral sex can spread hsv-1 to the genitals and hsv-2 to the lips.

Depends on immunity: If immune to Herpes type 1 she should not be able to catch type 1 again, but may have outbreaks at locations where she had it originally. If immune to type 2 she should not be able to catch type 2 again, but may have outbreaks at locations where she had it originally. If NOT immune to type 1, she can catch type 1; if NOT immune to type 2, she can catch type 2; at locations where she is exposed.
