Yes: Scabies is treated with a topical scabicide such as 5% permethrin.  It is applied over the entire body from the chin to the toes and left on for 8 to 14 hours before washing off.  The treatment is repeated 1 week later.  The scabies burrows can take a while to disappear after treatment is started.

YES: The scabies mite burrows under the top skin layers and poos in their burrow. Much of the intense itching and redness is due to your scratching and the bodies reaction to this debris.This can take up to six weeks to fade.

Yes: Even after complete tx , the itch of scabies can remain for weeks but that itch should be improving over that time period. The use of topical steroids may be helpful to tx the itch and rash from scabies.

Scabies: Scabies are mites, not worms. They create tracts under the skin and are very itchy. 2 treatments, 1 week apart is best and washing all linen. Make sure everyone gets treated. All the best.
