Yes: there are no contraindications to use of steroids for gout while a person is on suboxone, but the physician needs to be aware of ALL the medications you are on in order to safely treat you.  I am not sure that I would want anybody coming at MY toe with a needle if I had gout, without first using an anti-inflammatory, or colchicine or oral steroids to reduce the inflammation first.

It Depends: Each case is different. The length of time a person may need to stay on Suboxone may depend on several factors including the length of time the person abused opiates, how potent was the opiate abused, how high a daily dose, the route they used (i.e. Intravenous, intranasal, by mouth, etc) and finally, whether the person has a family history of addictions. Slowly tapering Suboxone is usually best.

See below: It of certainly safer than the alternative of continued use of illegal opioids.  Ideally, one ceases the use of all drugs but many are unable to attain this goal.  Suboxone is the next best option and many people can be stable on this for decades without major insurmountable health issues.

Opiate recovery: Suboxone is used for detox from opiate addiction (heroin, oxycodone, oxycontin, etc) and opiate recovery maintenance to stop the withdrawal symptoms but it does not make people high.
