No: We have all heard about people "having a period" when they are pregnant. What's really happening is that these women are pregnant and bleeding for some other reason even if it happens to occur when their cycle is due. This is definitely something a doctor should know about.

No...: Having a normal regular period means one is not pregnant. Having sex after the period means one could become pregnant on the current month. If the next period comes and is a normal regular one, it means one is not pregnant, again. If worried, one can do a urine pregnancy test the week after missing a period, or 3 weeks after having sex.

Not during: If it's a normal period, ovulation won't occur until about 14 days after the onset of the period. The fertilized egg can't implant in the uterus during a normal period. With an ectopic pregnancy it's possible to have vaginal bleeding however.

1st trimester bleed: Vaginal bleeding during pregnancy particularly in the first trimester is not uncommon but is not "a normal period". It may represent implantation or other benign conditions but it may also be a symptom of a pregnancy complication which requires evaluation, diagnostic and treatment .

It is possible: A true period usually eliminates the chance that you are pregnant but some pregnant women can have vaginal bleeding that looks like a period.  One .example: a pelvic infection could cause bleeding while pregnant.  Another would be something called "implantation bleeding" which occurs when the newly conceived embyo's placenta "takes root" and causes bleeding.  You should do a pregnancy test.

Menses: There are situation where a pregnant person may have placental edge bleeding which may appear as menses.
These patients need  evaluation to incude, cbc, Rh status, and a pelvic ultrasound for reassurance. 
Thus  what you experience is not normal but can happen. Good luck.

hello, i had mc late february and still have not gotten my period. i'm a week late so i decided to take a pregnancy test and it immediately was positive could this be right?  is this right i thought i was suppose to have a normal period before conceiving?
