Yes: The transmission of herpes is not 100% with contact but increases with any breaks in skin or contact with mucosal membranes.  One could potentially "auto-inoculate" or spread the herpes virus to different parts of their body this way.  Therefore, a cut to the hand makes it vulnerable to the herpes virus if there was contact.

how is herpes contracted through oral ? my wife had a cold sore and i received oral , i didn't have any abrasions , but is it contracted threw cuts or the urethra ? what are they chances i will get it?

: There is always the chance. But in many medical studies the chances are between 3 and 15%- and not predictable as the type of virus and the person's immune system determine this.

: Very less likely you can get infected with herpes virus this way even the owner of that wet jean is positive for herpes simplex.

Doubtful: By theory, but doubtful. For example if a person  has an open sore or even a sore that is not readily visible and has sex while you are wearing underwear and the virus gets on your underwear, it would have to seep through the clothing and get onto your vaginal area. That being said, the safest is the use of condoms to prevent the spread of the virus, as it is unlikely with clothing, but can occur.

Probably not: Herpes is spread by direct contact with the lesion on an infected person.  It is not passed through the urine. There may be recorded instances of transmission through objects, but I have not read any personally. (One can never say never in medicine :) )

Yes: Herpes infection cab be acquired by contact of active herpes lesion. You don't need broken skin or cut to get herpes infection. All you need is contact with active herpes lesion.

Accepted Answer

Theoretically yes: Hsv can be transmitted through ai, so we recommend screening of donors to prevent transmission. Sperm banks screen their donors but if this is a directed sperm donor, you have to decide on the screening. We usually recommend infectious disease tests and quarantine for directed donors but sometimes people waive the testing and take risks. Good luck.

Genital herpes: Herpes 2 is usually transmitted by contact with the genital area, but if the person is shedding virus onto his hand and  touches the cigarette and then you put the cigarette in your mouth, it would be possible to transmit the virus to you. Herpes 2 can cause oral infection.

Yes: Oral kissing is unlikely to lead to the transmission of certain sexually transmitted infections, unless there is bleeding into the mouth from a break in the skin/mucous membrane.  The risk is very low still.
