In general, type i, also known as herpes labialis, causes infections above the waist, most commonly as oral cold sores.Type ii infections occur mainly below the waist, leading to genital herpes.

Very unlikely: Transfer of an HSV infection from the area first involved to another area is called auto-inoculation. It sometimes occurs during the first infection, i.e. within several weeks of catching the virus. After that, the immune system prevents auto-inoculation. If someone has had genital or oral herpes more than a few months, it is very unlikely s/he will ever self infect other places on the body.

can u get herpes if someone touches a sore on their body then touches a gas pump, then u touch and use the gas pump and rub someones back after? (i was the one getting my back rubbed) can it spread to my back? i have pimples/ some open?

: No risk at all. You cannot catch herpes except by someone's herpes sore coming in direct contact with your genital area, mouth, etc. The virus is never transmitted by indirect exposure or by contact with contaminated surfaces, hands, fingers, etc. Don't worry about this.

Usually not: If a person's first Herpes simplex infection was on her genitals, and she developed (and continues to have) a good level of protective antibodies against that strain of herpes, then she should not be able to get a new infection elsewhere on her body from that same strain of herpes. However, life is not 100% predictable, so nature might seem to "break the rules" sometimes.

i had sex with a girl and the only part of my body that came in contact with her was my penis, could i get herpes outbreaks on my face?

It's possible: It's called herpetic whitlow. Dont touch if you see sores, and always use condoms for intercourse.

Herpes treatment: Acyclovir (Zovirax) cream only treats the exact spot it treats; it has no effect on other distant herpes sites. It is also poor treatment even on outbreaks where it is applied. Research shows it is no better than placebo. Only oral treatment is beneficial. For lower frequency and severity of genital HSV2 outbreaks and to reduce viral shedding and protect partners, take oral treatment continuously.

if you already have herpes simplex 1 (cold sores) .. what is the likelihood that you would get the same virus in the genital area? or is your body already protecting itself?

Very unlikely. Yes.: If a person's first HSV-1 infection was on her lips, and she developed (and continues to have) a good level of protective antibodies to HSV-1, then she should not be able to get a new HSV-1 infection elsewhere on her body. She can get an HSV-2 infection elsewhere, if he has never had HSV-2. However, life is not 100% predictable, so nature might seem to "break the rules" sometimes.

i had a body to body massage from a massage parlour with body to body rubbing with oil and followed by hand job.. my question? is there any chance to get any std? like herpes, skin diseases? hiv etc.. pls reply?
