Here are some ...: The agents to cause STDs have their own unique fastidiousness of survival and growth. Therefore, contacting with STDs does not mean contracting them. Contracting them doesn't mean developing the symptoms or lesions of STD due to personal immune defense ability. Of course, avoiding contacts is the best means to avoid STDs. So, beware to practice safe sex and get tested timely if in high risk.

STD: That would very unlikely. The std would likely need to make contact with a mucosal membrane  (like mouth or genitalia) on you or go directly in through a break in your skin (depending on what it is ). In other words the type of contact you have would not be conducive to this.   However, there can be lots of germs in general on toilets- so  hope you clean toilets with gloves. Take care.

Highly unlikely.: Everyone uses public toilets throughout their lives, and people are generally less than sanitary in their usage. If diseases were easily communicable in this way, we would all be in trouble. Cut or not, the best thing for you to do is wash your hands thoroughly after each toilet use, and you will be fine. Unprotected sex is a good way to get both of these, however. Use condoms.

Yes: Testing for STDs can be done while on your period. Some are done on blood drawn from your arm and others on urine or cervical swabs but bleeding does not prevent any of the testing.The only way to know why a physician would want to just do an exam and no blood or urine tests would be to ask that physician. Sorry I can't tell u what the other doctor was thinking. It may have been done to save money
