UTI for a week: If you have had a UTI for a week, "flushing" it out does not appear to be working. Go to a physician and get our urine cultured and get started on the appropriate antibiotic. Good luck.

UTI: Well you need to confirm whether or not you actually have one. There are some over the counter test kits that are fairly accurate. I suggest you see a physician. Some people treat or prevent urine infections with cranberry extract and d-mannose both over the counter supplements.

Kidney, yes: Coffee, no- but kidney pain typically occurs in either flank. Make sure the UTI has been completely cleared.

UTI and cranberries: Cranberry juice makes the urine more acidotic, which inhibits the growth of bacteria. It is not as effective as antibiotics. If you have a bladder infection, see a physician, get a urine culture and get started on an effective therapy, which is an antibiotic that can treat the bacterium causing the infection. Good luck.
