Risks: Here are some of the possible effects from marijuana use: feelings of anxiety, depression, fear, panic or in some cases euphoria.  If a high dose is taken it can lead to delusions, hallucinations or losing touch with reality.

I wouldn't: I don't know for sure if smoking marijuana will definitely complicate the interpretation of an eeg by a neurologist. However, it could be logically concluded that since thc acts on receptors in the brain, acute intoxication may create electrical activity on the monitor which may yield a false-positive reading and compromise the diagnostic accuracy of the test. It may have to be repeated then.

You'll be hungry: probably very hungry.  It will not do anything specifically harmful unless you don't eat (or drink) for a very long period of time.  If you do not have experience with marijuana, first time users who are older may experience more dysphoria (feeling bad), increased anxiety and even panic attacks. It also impairs driving ability and other tasks that make it unsafe to operate dangerous machinery etc.

Myths: Nope. That would be a false myth.

Now, there is a well known phenomenon that marijuana can successfully be used to stimulate appetite or to calm nausea in the chronically ill or terminally ill.
But, in general any mind altering substance can cause anxiety, depression, paranoia and other physical reactions that are unpleasant.

Depends: If it "messed up" everyone who smoked it, you wouldn't find people smoking it.  Most people experience a mild euphoria, with some experiencing stimulation and others mild sedation. Some people become very anxious, rarely to the point of a panic attack, and it may increase depression in some. Younger adolescents may experience psychosis, esp if there is a family history of schizophrenia etc.

Yes it affects you: The smoke itself from marijuana is probably less harmful than cigarettes, but it can cause paranoia in some people who are susceptible to it. And more importantly chronic marijuana use can dramatically decrease motivation, increase appetite, and lead to significant weight gain. There is pretty good evidence it can help some people with severe chronic pain and weight loss.

You can't: That is why they do drug tests, so you won't "smoke weed" today or anyday.

"It"?: I'm not sure if you meant to ask, "will weed affect me or not?"  but, smoking weed will affect you whether you go to gym afterwards or not.  At the gym, it seems like your performance on cardio could be affected (lungs prefer fresh air rather than smoke) plus your coordination and processing speed as well.  Probably not the healthiest or most focused way to be dealing with machines and weights.
