In women tv may cause tubal infertility by causing pelvic inflammatory disease, possibly by allowing other std's to cause damage. It may just be a marker of increased risk of STDs like chlamydia. In men, it is a rare cause of infertility, but tv may directly reduce sperm motility. It may infect epididymis, even testicles: orchitis.

Possibly: It is possible to have trich for 5 years and most people will have some sort of symptoms such as discharge with odor and vaginal irritation or burning. Bv is different than trich though the symptoms are similar.  I don't think having trich will make someone more susceptible to BV but i suppose it's possible.
