Yes: Morning sickness is tough enough....Traveling to high altitudes can give you altitude sickness.  You will survive but you may not feel so great.

Fitness is unrelated: Unfortunately, altitude sickness effects people quite variably, with some people highly susceptible. Vulnerability to altitude sickness is not affected by level of physical conditioning.  Medications can be very helpful, including Nifedipine and dexamethasone, but these have to be chosen carefully depending on any other health issues that you may have. Gradual ascent is the only certain prevention.

Barometric headache: Features of mountain sickness do come to mind when you give that history. There is also another entity called barometric headache which occurs in some individuals who reach an altitude of above 7500 feet. Treatment could be acclimation to the altitude or simply coming down from that altitude for a time and then returning until acclimation occurs. Fluids and simple analgesics may be of benefit.

Question?: The infections are typically treated with antibiotics if bacterial.  The altitude sickness is best treated with hydration and rest, if it is mild.  If it more severe, go to an emergency room.

Stress on heart: Pts who go to high altitudes find that there is less availbla oxygen for them to do such things as execise etc. Over time the body adapts by making more red blood cells .And they wont feel so fatigued or short of breathe with activities. But this adaptation takes time. A pt with ischemic heart disease doesnt always have the reserve during the transition and agina or even a heart attack can occur.

Pregnancy Test: Fortunately, not everyone gets morning sickness. You can buy a urine pregnancy test at the pharmacy, or ask your doctor to order a blood test. The urine tests have a small chance of "false negative" very early in pregnancy, but overall they're very reliable.

Most wt gain is late: Not everyone has morning sickness, and most weight gain doesn't occur always in the first trimester.In fact, there are some women who don't gain much weight at all, or don't notice it.Each pregnancy is individual. If you feel you have lost weight, contact your ob/gyn to make sure you are eating enough of the right foods, taking prenatal supplements, and following up to make sure everything is fine.

If you have morning: sickness you probably still have viable fetus. Consult to your Obstetrician about this .

Maybe not.: maybe so.  But it's important to mention these 2 symptoms to your obstetrician, whom knows your pregnancy, and is much better qualified to give you best advice, catered to you and what he/she might already know of you.  Maybe go in for a reassuring check.  Zmd

Everyone's different: Each woman - and each pregnancy - is different. Women often have different symptoms with each pregnancy. Later in the pregnancy - when you are able to feel your baby moving - you'll have no question! good luck. Lgromko md.
