Too many causes!: From herpes, to conditions more benign. Can be an infected cyst, and many other things. See your doc!

Yes.: Antibiotics can cause yeast infection/ yeast vaginitis.  Usually this is associated with a white discharge.

Soaps, douches, etc.: Harsh soaps, frequent douching,  dehydration and the use of talcum powders all contribute to this problem so stop. Dove, Caress, and Ivory are recommended soaps, and drinking appropriate amounts of water daily. (not sodas).

It may be: Among  other things, due to hormonal fluctuations that would probably both improve with a birth control pill.  That is, unless they are not related but coincidental.  It could be breast pain and a bladder infection or another type of issue but let's assume hormonal.  Try some short term aleve (naproxen) or ibuprofin until u get in.

Good question...: ...For the doctor that examined you.  I'm sorry that in your health system you do not have the access to a personal gynecologist, who cares enough about you to converse with you about your concerns.
Dermatitis, lichen sclerosis, herpes, labial hypertrophy, allergic reaction, are all among the possible causes.

Hormonal changes: Usually due to a surge s estrogen or progesterone- really not uncommon; however, if symtoms persist, call your GYN.

Vaginal dryness: Vaginal dryness is generally not caused by Acyclovir and if irritated, sore and burning as you describe a vaginal infection is the more likely cause.

Possibly: Antibiotics can cause yeast and bacterial infections. See your doctor to find out if you have one of these.

Not from cyst: Ovarian cysts come and go and some do rupture. Any associated bleeding never makes it into the vagina, but settles out within the abdomen.If she has vaginal bleeding and its character is that of menstrual flow, that is a likely source.If she is hurting, an evaluation is a good idea.Backing off on the sex is wise until  you sort this out.
