No data on this: Very little research has been done on the HCG diet and the risk for infertility. Because there is very little research on this diet i never recommend this diet to my patients.

Not likely: Probably not , staph is present every on the skin. Ask your md about the possible cause of your infection.

See below: As a general rule, you want to have your autoimmune disease under control before you conception.  I would recommend that you meet with your rheumatologist and OB to discuss pre-conception planning so that you have a better chance to have a good outcome with your pregancy.

No: If you take HCG orally, it will not cause a false pregnancy test. A month is long enough for HCG to be eliminated even if you had HCG injection.

Positive HCG: The pregnancy test you took measures if HCG is present. You have taken h g for your diet! I would suggest that you get a blood test that measures your quantitative hcg.

Effects: Both weight loss and increased Hcg will have an effect on your menstrual cycle. Studies giving exgenous hcg show changes in estrogen, progesterone and LH and FSH which are the hormones that control your cycle. Weight loss itself will be a factor too.  I am unaware of any specific dangers from the diet. If the problem would continue past a 2 or 3 months seek evaluation.

Miscarriage: A decrease in HCG usually indicates demise of the pregnancy.
