Sore Throat: If you have sore throat you may be coming up with Viral URI. This is the Flu season so be careful. Hope you had Flu Shot.
Drink warm drinks like Ginger and camomile tea.Gargle with Warm water. Get examined to make sure you do not have Tonsillitis . If so you may need Antibiotic.

Needs evaluation: Multiple problems can cause this symptom.  It is likely related to an esophagus problem of which the most common is inflammation as a result of acid reflux.  Your physician should evaluate this and other potential causes for the pain.

Achalasia/ structure: in this 30 yo pt with dysphasia to liquids and solids, an upper endoscopy is warranted +- barium swallow. A mechanical obstruction such as achalasia or esophageal strictures or gastric cancer are possible

Smoking : Smoking is a cancer causing habit. With your concurrent medical conditions, you are at risk for developing the full spectrum of cancer. Nodules can grow on the scar tissue present on your throat. It is important that smoking does not focus on one area of tissue and cause a tissue change. But tissues that are constant contact with the chemicals will be weakened, can get irritated and are at higher risk for developing abnormal growths. Stop smoking, you are still young and research shows that after about 5-10 years, your lungs will return to a normal state of health.

how long can you live off of ensure? is three bottles a day good? i have issues swallowing food so i pretty much stick with liquids now.

Dysphagia: The more important question here is why are you having trouble swallowing? The vast majority of causes of dysphagia in a 29-year-old are easily treatable. You should see a gastroenterologist for further evaluation. Do not delay. Good luck.

Mechanical problem?: Sounds like a mechanical problem with the way food gets from the mouth to the stomach. The first stop is in the mouth where saliva moistens food - you may have xerostomia (dry mouth).  Several strategies/medications can help.  But, you might have a problem with the esophagus (foodpipe) - either a narrowing, or ineffective contractions moving food/pills down to the stomach. See an md for evaluation.

i accidentally chewed my zenatane capsule while trying to take it with food. will it still work the same? how can i make myself swallow with liquid?

Accepted Answer

Insignificant issue: Zenatane is NOT a timed release capsule, so crushing it accidentally before swallowing it won't change its effect.  The recommendation to take it with food is that, unlike many drugs, it is absorbed better with food.  Try taking it with something like yogurt which doesn't have to be chewed and you may have better luck swallowing it whole.
