Too soon to test: If you miss your period by 4-5 days, do a home pregnancy test. If the result is negative repeat the test 4-5 days later unless you get a period by then. Use first morning urine and follow the instructions for the test carefully.
If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time, every time. You may consider implanted contraceptive, or IUD. 
Practice safe sex. 
Get HPV vaccine.

No.: The enlargement may give that appearance. If you do measure size. You could consider a reduction of the areolar region. This can be completed under local anesthesia.

Hard to guess: A urine pregnancy test, done correctly, gives a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have occurred), or 1 week after missing a period. If done sooner, a positive result is likely real, but a negative result may be due to testing too soon, and thus lead to a repeat test. If a woman gets her normal regular period, then she is not pregnant, and a test is not needed.

Get a test: Pregnancy tests have become very sensitive and widely available. Your best plan is to purchase one at a drug store.

Possible: If your period was abnormal and you have been having unprotected intercourse, pregnancy is a possibility. To know for sure, do a pregnancy test and repeat it in 3-5 days if it is negative. If it is still negative, pregnancy is not the cause of your breast changes and it is unlikely that breast cancer would cause bilateral changes. Hope this helps.

It could be: we need to have home pregnancy test .
of course it could be a pregnancy, if you are sexually active ,and you do not use any protection ,and you have a normal healthy cycle, why you do not expect to be pregnant.
so check pregnancy first

GYN MD visit needed: The first thing to do is to do a pregnancy test. If that is negative, then see a GYN MD as there are multiple causes for irregular periods.

Yes: Hormonal changes during menstrual cycles and during pregnancy can cause darkening of the areola.

Do a test: Do another pregnancy test.  It is generally reliable 12 days after ovulation.
