Probably safe: This is a combination medication. Of the 3 components, some concern is raised about the codeine, which does transfer to baby &amp; can result in sedation or respiratory depression in some. For most it is safe at the usual recommended dose.

Possibly: The "official" literature for Plan B states that the safety of the medication during breastfeeding is unknown for the breastfeeding infant.  It is likely that some of the medication is found in breast milk so the infant will likely have ingested some during breastfeeding if Plan B is taken.

hello! i took one dose of azo (2 pills) and i didnt realize that you couldnt take it while breastfeeding. i normally only feed my son at night , so will i be able to still feed him by 9 if i took the medicine around 10:15/10:30?

: No it would not be out of your system for 48hrs. Pl find another way of feeding. Pl- do not take ANY medicine while pregnant or lactating without consulting your doc. good luck

: It will take another 48 hrs. PL dont take  DRUG otc or otherwise on your own when pregnant or breast feeding. Wish you and the baby well

Decide with doctor: When taken by mouth, Cataflam is present in breast milk. Topical Cataflam is absorbed into the body less than by mouth, although small amounts may be present in breastmilk, and your little one may be exposed to it. The decision to continue should be made together with your doctor, but it comes down to the benefit of therapy vs. risk to your infant (e.g., what if s/he has an allergy to it).

Can gain weight w/o: If one is truly underweight (based on height, family background, and body type), a Dr. can evaluate for a hormonal, digestive, or other disorder. If no medical cause is found, then one can add weight by eating more calories of nutritious foods (can gain weight without medications).  Add protein: egg white, chicken breast, salmon,...  Better fats: olive oil, peanuts, almonds, tofu,....

WHY????: Why in the world would you take this for any reason? A single dose of this addicting tranquilizer is not likely to harm anyone. The baby may become sleepy for a few hours. Avoid any unneeded meds , especially while nursing.

Meds with lactation: Please consult the baby's pediatrician when breast feeding.Almost all meds will come into the breast milk and one must be careful popping pills in pregnancy and lactation.

is oxy-powder safe to take while breastfeeding? i can not go to the bathroom. maybe 1x every 10 days. miralax/metamucil/fiber one nothing works. i dont eat trash and drink a liter of water a day. i am miserable?

: Please discuss this with your Gynecologist. There are also over the counter Dulcolax suppositories that might be helpful. If you are not confident in your Doctor please see another for a second opinion.
