No studies: I'm not a dermatologist, and I haven't seen any studies in a medical journal to confirm it, but many mothers swear that it helps with neonatal acne.

Controversial: Studies have suggested yes and no. What i advise patients is to limit their dairy intake, limit soy type products, and eat a well balanced diet, avoiding high glycemic index carbs.

Doxycycline: Doxycycline is commonly used to treat acne. If you are taking doxy, then you should definitely avoid milk as this can prevent the doxy from being absorbed and working as it should.

Probably: This is the "pop" wisdom and a couple of dermatologists told me they think it's true. However, all acne can be managed scientifically nowadays. If topical benzoyl peroxide hasn't touched it in two weeks, get with your physician. Good luck.

No:  The dietary contribution to acne incidence is an issue oversold for years.  A few may have an individual reaction to any dietary substance. For most it is a myth.

Not really: Acne is caused by a confluence of hormonal activity (increasing oil production) & skin bacteria infecting oil glands. Certain foods have been thought to exacerbate acne, but really it's all about decreasing bacteria and oil production.

Try limiting : More than five servings of dairy (milk, cheese, ice cream, yogurt, etc.) may increase acne breakouts in some women. Try to control your dairy intake for a few weeks and see if the acne improves.
