Not sure: I can't tell what's causing the abdominal cramping but it's likely not related to either medication. Do you have nausea, vomiting, diarrhea?  Is the cramping more menstrual?  Any urinary problems?  Good luck!

if i am taking augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) for 2 weeks for sinusitis while on mononessa(birth control) could that cause me to ovulate and/or breakthrough spotting?

Spotting: Clavulanate  can interfere with effectiveness of birth control medication and it is quite possible that it has interacted with the hormone and decreased its effective concentration in your blood which has caused you to spot. This is also why it is always advisable to use a backup method of birth control while on such antibiotics.

can you mix metoprolol and mononessa?

Accepted Answer

Yes, BUT …: You may, but assuming that different doctors prescribed each drug, you will want to tell both of them, especially the one who prescribed metoprolol. MonoNessa may increase blood levels of metoprolol and may require a dose reduction by your doctor.

It is probably.....: Probably what is going on is your body is adjusting to the added hormones. It will take a few months but it should straighten out.  As always, if you are late on your period and feel you have symptoms of pregnancy, do a pregnancy test then follow up with your physician accordingly.

Accepted Answer

Unlikely: In fairly large studies, birth control pills are generally only associated with weight gain of 1-2 lbs. So 15+ lbs is unlikely caused by the pills.  That being said, there are always rare cases, so stopping the pills (and perhaps using condoms for a bit) should drop the weight pretty quickly if they're the cause.  Pregnancy on the pill is also uncommon, but a home pregnancy test can answer that!

its the third month of mononessa and i've been breakthrough bleeding for a week and a half, is this normal?

Accepted Answer

Breakthrough bleed: Breakthrough bleeding (bleeding at the wrong time)  is very normal on birth control. It happens in about 1/3 of users. Its no big deal and usually self corrects over time.  If you are not satisfied or it continues to happen  then consider using a different birth control method. It is a common side effect and does not mean something is wrong or that the Nuvaring is not working.

was on microgestin until 21st. 23rd pd started. went to gyno 25th and got mononessa.started today. boyfriend gets here tomorrow.am i still protected?

OCP's: Did you start the pills on the 25th? If you started on the 25th, then you are still protected as you were pill free for four days only. However, since they are new, I would use backup protection, just to be sure, such as condoms until 7 pills have been taken.

Accepted Answer

Backup : If you miss a week, wait until you start your period then restart your new pill .  So your next 3 or 4 cycles will likely be a little erratic.  Hang in there and it should clear up.  But. You are at higher risk of pregnancy. So use condoms as well.

Inactive ingredients: They contain FD &amp; C Blue No. 2 Aluminum Lake, ferric oxide, lactose, magnesium stearate, polyethylene glycol, pregelatinized corn starch, purified water, polyvinyl alcohol, talc and titanium dioxide

Dermatologist: Consider seeing a dermatologist who can suggest various shampoo or treatment options for oily hair. This is not going to be related to your birth control
