Absolutely. As an: auto(self)immune(complex internal system which best protects from cancer, viruses, fungi &amp; bacteria), any portion of the body can be targeted resulting in what ever consequences. Commonly, the arterial/capillary system is involved in the self-attacks. Since all the cells of our bodies are dependant on blood supply, they can all be damaged/die even if not attacked as a direct target of the disease.

Unlikely: If you have lupus this could be related to medication for your disease or to the lupus.  The stomach problem you describe is not a typical feature of sle or other forms of lupus.

Accepted Answer

Unlikely: Lupus is basically a form of "vasculitis" which affects small blood vessels such as those in the kidneys, joints (arthritis) and skin! The GI tract is generally unaffected! The MEDICATIONS used to TREAT Lupus are another story! Most of them have mild-moderate GI effects!

have lupus & upper abdom pain for months. egd showed stomach was full of bile.us only showed small fluid around gallbladder. otherwise normal. causes?

Obstruction?: You need to check with your GI specialist as to whether surgical correction may be necessary and what process is causing the bile in the stomach and fluid around the gallbladder. If your GI cannot answer your question, you will need to seek a 2nd opinion , perhaps even going to a tertiary center for it.

i have lupus and gi problems.
gastric emptying study showed rapid gastric emptying.  no previous stomach surgeries so md was surprised.
can lupus cause this? 
and what can i do for it.diet/lifestyle changes don't help.

Gastric emptying: I'm not aware of lupus increasing gastric emptying. If there is gastritis, prilosec twice a day or pepcid should help. To reduce gastrointestinal irritability or spasms, anticholinergic medications like dicyclomine, donnatal or probanthine are effective. Abstain from alcohol,caffeine and nicotine.

i have some tracts of lupus & have fibroid 9cm. been having some stomach issue with some food.  is endoscopy needed and a good thing to do?

SLE: Doesn't sound like a primary lupus issue but could be related to his medications or over the counter issues or a whole host of other things.  He should see a doc in person to explain the story better.

See rheumatologist: The bleeding ulcer is not the usual presentation for lupus.  In fact, prednisone may worsen it.  You need to talk to your rheumatologist to make sure that the medications you are taking are not causing the ulcer and then a GI consult may be in order since this may have nothing to do with your lupus.

i have extreme body aches and chills. i can not keep anything on my stomach and fever but not sneezing or cough. i have lupus should i go in?

Yes.: Should see your doctor asap to assess for lupus flare or an infection.

my dr said i had swollen lymphnodes in my stomach along with uti but still wouldnt give nothing 4 pain my mom has lupus is it possiable i could too?

Many possible causes: I am not clear as to where your md identified "swollen lymph noted." if you have a urinary tract infection you should be treated. Treatment may help with your discomfort. With respect to diagnosing lupus with these symptoms,  careful examination and laboratory evaluation are required.
