They are mot lilkey for HBP and causing the need for Viagara, If so and he has not been reommended to move to the DASH eating plan to lower or emininate the BP meds. Viagra (sildenafil): Currently, viagra (sildenafil) is fda-approved for on-demand use before a sexual encounter.  There is no data to my knowledge to support daily use dosing regimens.  It should not really interact in a negative way with atenolol.  Hope this helps.

Four Hour Erection: It is very unusual for a male to have an erection that lasts for over four hours without ejaculation or periods of time when the erection is less firm.

A four hour erection or more is called priapism and can be a very serious situation for a man where the tissues of the penis begin to lose oxygen and to die off.  I doubt that sexual activity as you describe is the same thing.
