NO: They do not cause either.When you want to get pregnant it may take a few weeks-month after you go off before you do so

Odd question: If she has low thyroid she will clearly benefit from thyroid therapy. Why not??? The specific type of birth control is significant. Some hormones reduce acne and improve hair problems. Some hormones (androgenic progesterones) aggravate acne and cause loss of scalp hair. All 3 of your meds reduce acne and reduce loss of scalp hair. For polycystic ovary, weight loss and perhaps metformin are useful.

Trial and error: there is no one "best" pill for ANY condition, although the pill manufacturers may try to make you believe there is. You need to work with a doctor who can go through the process with you. Good wishes.

Can happen: These can happen with all birth control pills, you may switch to a non-hormone method, or at least, a low hormone method (iuds, implants, mini-pills, etc.).

Saw palmetto: There is no evidence that it will help your hair, but evidence that it may interfere with your birth control. Are you on Metformin for the real problem with PCOS and testosterone? That being insulin resistance. If not suggest it to your physician or see an endocrinologist.  Your best bet would be to see a dermatologist for help with your hair loss.

Contraceptive choice: Hi. No birth control should cause tremors. Some women experience weight gain and/or hair loss with estrogen/progestin BCPs or progestin devices. There are IUDs, condoms, diaphragms, cervical cap. Talk with your gyn about what may work best for you. Good luck!

No: No birth control pill causes hair loss. If you don't want to take the pill you should discuss with your doctor; he/she can answer your concerns and prescribe differently (or not.) No hair loss either way, good wishes.
