NOT TOGETHER: Sucrocate(carafate) can bind to Cipro (ciprofloxacin) in the stomch decreasing the amount that is absorped into the blood stream.You should take ciprodose at least4 hours before or 6 hours after taking carafate.

To be certain, however, check the label of your sleep aid &amp; obtain the name or active ingredient &amp; ring ur pharmacist and/or MD. Always tell each of ur prescribers all meds ur taking, including over the counter meds/supplements for proper counsel! :)

NO: Antacids like Tums containing calcium carbonate will significantly reduce the absorption of ciprofloxacin. Omeprazole will also reduce the level or effect of ciprofloxacin. I don't have any information on buscopan as it is not used in the U.S.******CIPROFLOXACIN CAN CAUSE ABDOMINAL PAIN CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR AND ADVISE HIM OF YOUR PAIN. HE MAY ADVISE YOU TO STOP IT AND SUBSTITUTE ANTIBIOTIC.

i have been sick for nine days with a four day break after the first four days. stomach pain and fever. my np put me on ciprofloxacin saying it was a stomach virus but antacids give me relief. should i go back to see him?

: If you are still having fever after 9 days, you definitely should go back and see your NP.   The antibiotic is not the right one for your current infection and a different one may be needed.   Do a COVID-19 test, too.

i am alergic to penicillan, sulfa and cipro (ciprofloxacin).  i have used microbid so much it doesn't work now.  what can i take for u.t.i.'s ?

UTI: Getting a culture and sensitivity might help to choose either a tetracycline derivative or azithromycin, or others depending upon the results.  If necessary it may be necessary to undergo desensitization but only if the infection is upper tract.  Good luck.

Yes: Tetracycline and Cipro (ciprofloxacin) are in different drug classes.  Cipro (ciprofloxacin) is a quinolone agent and is unrelated to tetracycline.  You cannot take Doxycycline if you are allergic to tetracycline.
