Will vary.: The treatment of epididymitis depends on the cause. In younger men, it is usually due to gonorrhea or chlamydia, which are sexually transmitted infections. Treatment depends on the antibiotic, and can last up to 10 days. The symptoms, however, may persist for weeks despite adequate treatment. I would not resume sex until you and your partner are evaluated & treated.

: If you are the same gentleman whose pain was not getting better with cipro, I would not think that sexual intercourse  would be particularly desirable, but wouldn't affect your infection or your COVID vaccine.  Is there some planned ritual on "day 9"?

Hereditary, No.  : There are a number of causes of epididymitis, including sexually transmitted infections, infections from inside your own body (prostate, blood, urine), certain medications, tuberculosis, heavy lifting or straining, viral infections (mumps), trauma, etc.

Hereditary is not a risk factor, although, being uncircumcised, high risk sex, enlarged prostate, medical procedures, etc. Can be.

It is caused by an infection, usually a bacterial or a sexually transmitted infection.  Symptoms can include: painful and swollen scrotum, pain with intercourse and ejaculation, blood in the semen.  See your doctor for testing and antibiotics.

Maybe OK, but...: ...be careful if your husband is about your age. Over 90% of epididymitis under age 35 is due to chlamydia or gonorrhea. Negative tests don&#x27;t always exclude them; urine testing misses up to 10% of gonorrhea and chlamydia. If the slightest doubt, you definitely need STD testing yourself and perhaps treatment as if you have gonorrhea and chlamydia. And no sex until this is sorted out. Good luck.
