i had an intense fall which left my right buttock badly bruised.i now have a large hematoma at the site of the bruise.should i be concerned?

Hematoma: Hopefully you applied ice to the area after the fall. Big hematoma a can become infected and hide deeper bone injuries. See your Doctor and have imaging done. You may also consult with an Orthopedic specialist    Take pain medicine.

Yes: Sometimes with injections small blood vessels are injured and bleed. It should get better in a couple of weeks.

It's unlikely: to change further after a TWO YEAR time period..seek advice from a Board Certified Dermatologist (Suggest Dermatology Department MGH or BIDMC!

lump on  sacrum just above crack of buttocks, dr thought it was a cyst  had  sonogram today dr says its a hematoma or mass. i very scared its cancer?

Need further eval: would be unusual if its cancer.
No sure what the swollen nodes in our neck are all about or if it's related
may need biopsy-
possibly CT for further eval.

Options: I would have it checked by an orthopedic dr. First.  If it is a deep bruise or something not severely impaired, i would consider a phyusical therapist and a massage therapist that specializes in range of motion movements during the massage.

Sacral pressure : This could be the start of  pilonidal cyst. These are common in this area. If it starts to swell and become more painful or starts to drain you'll need to see a surgeon to fix the problem.

Ice and time: Bruising on the buttocks is a difficult area to treat. Ice packs for 15 minutes every 3-4 hours while awake should help keep the swelling down. Do not apply heat as that could cause more bleeding into the bruise. Most large bruises heal up over a few weeks. If it is not resolving see your doctor.

Deep IM injections: can cause some residual muscle pain; howver, I would advise consulting with the injecting physician.

i got a steroid shot last year in my buttocks. there is still a bruise and a knot where i was injected. is this normal? it is still tender as well.

Not Normal!: This may signify some scar tissue from irritation from the medication. Fibrotic scar tissue does occur from time to time. It should be checked. Wish you well!

Bruise.: Not knowing the exact mechanism of how you felt, or how you landed for that matter, I could comment on the management of this bruise. I could tell you that at this point you should be applying heat and not ice. If you feel that your spine is bothering you after a week or two, you might need an x-ray.
