Not HPV: Genital warts and other HPV infections don't cause pimple-like problems. The large majority of genital area skin problems are not caused by STDs. There are several kinds of inections and inflammatory conditions that might cause this. You'll need to be examined in person for this. Good luck.

Identifying HPV: Vulvar & vaginal warts (hpv) can appear similar to other skin lesions and are contagious via direct skin contact.  As such, suspicious skin lesions should be evaluated by a physician who can offer tests, treatment, & counseling, as needed.

Not HPV: Testosterone. A good thing overall.Hpv doesn't cause acne and neither do sugar or grease despite the pop claims. If you're still having acne at age 31, you can try managing it youself with benzoyl peroxide. If not sufficient and it bothers you, a next reasonable step is topical Clindamycin from your physician, perhaps with a retinoic acid derivative. I required oral tetracycline till about age 50.

May not be obvious: A physical exam by a practitioner experienced with hpv is necessary. Sometimes even then it is not clear, and occasionally a tiny biopsy is helpful.

What can he do?: You really mean, what can he do? He needs to be seen by his MD to determine the cause of the "pimple" on his penis and you need to eliminate "sharing" of that item until he does so.

Unlikely: The HPV are a wide ranging group of dozens of viral strains. There are 4 important ones that are passed sexually, but the common skin wart is also caused by a strain.If you have not had any sexual exposure, it is unlikely you could have one of those strains. The common skin wart strain is often passes hand to hand or by general exposures. Pimple like lesions are likely caused by something else.

: Most likely.  It can be tested for in blister fluid but not often done.

: There is a small chance of the virus transited to your face. HPV usually is transmitted by direct contact. Any virus can infect blood.
