is gatorade good for an upset stomach?

Depends on details: A simple tummy ache with symptoms like nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea, whether at home or traveling, may be from a virus infection, bacteria infection, or contaminated food. A typical normal, healthy person usually recovers easily. Taking a Pedialyte popsicle or 2-3 ounces of Pedialyte (or half-strength Gatorade) hourly, plus drinking or eating little else for 24 hours, may settle things down.

my 9yr old took amoxicillin without food and he is complaining of pain in his stomach, i gave him gatorade and made him eat, but he still has the pain?

Amox: What was he taking meds for? Usually antibiotiocs cause children some abdominal  pain but be sure he was properly diagnosed and the doc did not miss an abdominal diagnosis such as appendicitis.

drank a smirnoff ice and for 2 weeks now feel nauseous and and stomach discomfort and can't eat alot of food ive been eating crackers and gatorade helps a little?

Not related: to the Smirnoff Ice, although you are young to be drinking.  Try ginger ale and don't even try to eat a lot of food.  Just eat (slowly) until you start to feel discomfort.  Crackers/toast in moderation and gatorade are fine.  If this keeps up, you should probably get checked; but without real stomach PAIN it isn't likely to be serious.  Obviously, avoid doing drugs (incl. Marijuana)  Good luck!

Mild dehydration: You seem to be recovering from so called stomach virus.  Taking enough balanced fluid such as gatorade is all you need to do.

Aches and pains r: To be expected with any flu.Continue with small frequent sips of gatoraid.When hungry,try a little baked potato,toast, crackers,white rice. For aches,pain,fever use Tylenol (acetaminophen).

Yes: Pedialyte is formulated with just the right amounts of fluids and electrolytes to replace what you need. Coconut water has almost no electrolytes, and many of the gatorades have way to much sugars for use in gastroenteritis. However, with an adult or older child, any fluids are better than none and resultant dehydration.

i've had the stomach flu for 3 days. finally feeling a little better. only eating crackers and drinking gatorade, but why do i have excessive burping?

You are: probably swallowing air!!!  Eat SLOWLY and avoid drinking the Gatorade WHILE you are eating the crackers!  You are doing the right thing!  Keep it up but if not resolving in a WEEK call your PCP!

That's fine: Hi. A viral gastroenteritis ("stomach flu") will resolve with tincture of time. You do need to stay well hydrated. Gatorade gives you fluid, electrolytes, and a little sugar (helps prevent catabolism). Jello provides sugar and protein. Grape juice provides fluid and sugar. I've never heard the pretzel thing, but if you're tolerating them, they're OK I guess. Just make sure you stay well hydrated.

with lactose intolerance, would having a vanilla milkshake cause you to experience rumbling in your stomach, bloating & the urge to have a bowel movement? and how long after the milkshake would you start to experience those issues?

Likely/hours: As such liquids will pass into the small intestine within 1- 2 hours. Symptoms may begin as soon as the material is being processed in these areas. Lactose acts like an osmotic laxative if it is consumed without the lactase enzyme (available as "lactaid").

Anything: Most people think their whole abdomen is their stomach, but the stomach is in the upper middle or upper left of the abdomen.  If your lower abdomen hurts, that could be your skin, muscles, bladder, uterus, or intestines. If the upper part of your abdomen hurts, it could be acid reflux, pancreatitis, or other problems. See a doctor for an assessment.
