i understand that drinking alcohol can make skin look bad. but can quitting alcohol improve damage that regular drinking may have caused?

Maybe not: Moderate alcohol intake probably will not adversely affect your skin. There are several types of skin changes associated with alcohol abuse: bruising, increased wrinkles, spider veins, jaundice, rosacea, and skin cancer including melanoma.  Jaundice, rosacea, and bruising may improve with abstinence.  There are other serious issues with alcohol abuse such as cirrhosis of the liver.

Drug Overdosing: No. Mixing alcohol  and pills of any sort is dangerous and could lead to death. Stop now. Get help. Call  a friend and go to the er.

: Alcohol is a poison that never did anybody any good, ever, so stay away from it. It will destroy your brain cells, damage testicular cells that make testosterone, facilitate development of cancer in many organs, cause hepatitis, cirrhosis and pancreatitis etc. There is no safe level of alcohol intake. Quit while you are ahead.

Please go to ER, have all necessary tests and Radiological studies; have consultation with a Neurologist.

Abstain: Sorry, but the clear answer to this question is simple. Don't drink in excess.  Better yet, don't drink alcohol.  The health benefits are minimal, and the risks go far beyond head, neck, and back pain.  Just like mom used to say, "if it hurts when you do that, then don't do that.".
