UTI &amp; low dose pills: The urinary frequency may be due to a urinary tract infection(UTI) unrelated to the use of the pill. Low dose contraceptives do not produce dizziness nor water retention. Nausea can be a problem if the pill is taken on an empty stomach in some individuals. Have a MD evaluate you for a UTI.

26 y/o female diagnosed w/urethritis, negative urine test, neg std tests, no birth control pills. what could cause this? already taken zithromax.

Urethritis causes: include viral infections in addition to bacterial, but may also include Injury and sensitivity to the chemicals used in spermicides or contraceptive jellies, creams, or foams, and sometimes dietary chemicals. Avoid excessive holding of urine and drinking dye free liquids until urine is very light colored may be helpful.

Likely candida: This is most consistent with a vaginal yeast infection. You can try an OTC treatment, and also lower the sugar in your diet.  If no improvement then it should be evaluated -

I : I don't think your symptoms are related to the birth control pills. It sounds like you may be dealing with another yeast infection, a UTI (urinary tract infection) or both. I recommend you see your doctor for diagnosis and treatment.

took an hpt with first morning urine was negative 40 days after sex, 21 days after lighter but on time period should i be able to trust the negative result? also on birth control pills 5 years and suppose to start placebos on sunday

Yes: this seems reasonable, and lighter cycles are a normal  effect of the the birth control pills.

I assume you mean th: Thrombosis, any pill can cause that, but if u are healthy and young at age 30 and have no medical problems that would make u more at risk or and a neg family hx, your chance of thrombosis is very low and now with the newer low dose pills like loloestrin the risk is lower tell your doc you want to be on tehelowest combo pill which is loloestrin.

Yes: Birth control pills prevent ovarian and endometrial cancers.  Cervical cancer is increased due to most pill users do not use condoms and are more at risk for hpv infection which can cause cervical cancer.  There is a small increase in breast cancer with more than 10 years use, but these patients tend to have a much less aggressive form o breast cancer.

No: All of the available birth control pills, to my knowledge, have varying degrees of estrogen or estrogen-like components and as such can contribute to the development of melasma (in conjunction with sun-exposure).
