Yes: Yellow just means bile passing more quickly through the intestinal tract. You probably have irritable bowel or spastic colon which often gets worse (with diarrhea being one pattern) with stress.

Restructure thinking: Anxiety can lead to panic attacks that cause physical responses such as loss of appetite/stomach upset/diarrhea/nausea.  Beneficial treatment includes seeing a psychologist to build cognitive skills that restructure your anxious thoughts/thinking through questioning stressful thoughts. Perhaps asking yourself when stressed"Is my thinking working for or against me? Can I view this another way?"

The anxiety &amp; stress: "Plugging up" diarrhea will not cure an infection, fix an inflammatory process, improve an ischemic gut, or correct a functional issue.  Medical evaluation is recommended appropriate to the duration of your symptoms, associations (bleeding, weight loss, pain, vomiting), as well as your other medical co-morbidities.  Call your doctor please &amp; get checked, but also address the anxiety &amp; stresses.

Yes: Anxiety or stress irritable bowel syndrome can cause diarrhea. There are many other possibilities including acute infection malabsorb sure inflammatory bowel disease. See a primary care physician her gastroenterologist for diagnosis and treatment. Bleeding in the stool is always abnormal

It depends: Many people do have GI distress -- including diarrhea -- with anxiety.  However, diarrhea can also result from other causes.  If yours is "prolonged" [you don't say how long], it warrants a checkup with your primary care physician.  In the meantime, please be sure to drink plenty of fluids (water, not soft drinks, etc).

See your doctor: there are certain conditions where your gut is malabsorptive or irritated by certain foods or certain conditions where you lack the ability to digest a particular nutrient. when this happens, you can get diarrhea fairly quickly, upon your gut's contact with this food. what that means is you should probably start a food diary and talk about what you find with your doctor.

Start it going?: Anxiety can play a big role in getting this sort of thing kicked off. It leads to a flood of chemicals that hit all your organs, esp the weaker ones. Breathing, circulation, gut symptoms are common. The chemicals are the cause, but anxiety sparks them off. See a Dr for the gut. Ask for a CBT referral to learn Anx Mgmt. You may get a short round of Anx Meds.

Unusual but possible: Contact your prescriber.  You may not be able to tolerate this medication. If side effects are mild it is reasonable to wait but if moderate or severe call your prescriber and consider other options.
