Yeast: There are some individuals who may get systemic candidiasis, but most commonly they are profoundly immunosuppressed or have been receiving antibiotics for other serious infections, and so on.  You do not say why you suspect this, but if you have symptoms of fever, chills, malaise, etc., see a doctor and get evaluated.

Yes: In the groin (more common in males) it is called jock itch. Yeast can become a dermatitis (skin related) and be red with even little red dots outside that are called satellite lesions. It is not that common in females but can happen. If lotrimin, tinactin, (tolnaftate) micatin help then it is definitely yeast.

Depending on where your yeast infection is located, whether you share the same towel or bathe together can all influence this possibility. Also, younger children taking antibiotics--especially cephalosporins--can be predisposed to yeast.

You are "right": There is no correlation between yeast infections and an additional partner since yeast infections can be caused by antibiotics, douches, etc. What is of greater concern is why your partner is so quick to express that concern when you clearly said "it isn't so". This relationship has some "communication issues" that need to be addressed to maintain a level of "intimacy". or not.

Not because of that: You can get a yeast infection because they are incredibly common but not for that reason; i don't consider yeast infections contagious because we all have yeast (candida albicans) already living on our skin, in our intestines and most women probably have a bit vaginally; whether it progresses to an infection has more to do with your diet, immune health, antibiotic use ; balance of other flora.
