Yes: It is very common for the pain associated with gallbladder to be felt in the right lower chest and through to the back.  If the pain comes on after eating, there is a high likelihood that this is from the gallbladder and should be evaluated.

Movement?: If worse with movement likely a musculoskeletal injury. If not, could be any one of a number of things. See your doc, go over the details and  get examined.

Rib problem: If your ribs are truly "popping out of place" this may be seen in patients with hypermobility syndrome or other conditions in which there is laxity of the connective tissues. I recommend seeing a rheumatologist and would be happy to do a consult if needed.

Pain in chest wall: Yes a rib fracture can cause rib and side pain as well as abdomen discomfort because of the muscles attached to the broken rib.

Hard to say: Unless you injured it, it would be unusual to have really bad back pain from the muscles in your back.  There are many potential causes some of which are musculoskeletal, but some which are not.  A kidney infection, known as a pyelonephritis is just one example.  Consider being checked. An Ortho evaluation: When patients have persistent pain a good physical and exam can usually help figure out the causes which in this situation can include rotator cuff issues, neck pain, a pinched nerve or muscle spasm. An orthopedist or physical medicine and rehab can evaluate if a MRI is necessary and when to start therapy or other treatment. There are other non ortho causes of pain to consider like costochondritis.

Nerve impingement: Nerve impingement can be caused by being sandwiched between two spinal bones, pressed by a bulging. It can cause muscle spasm and back pain, dizziness and nausea. Prevention treatment is always recommended. This condition must be professionally managed. See interventional pain management specialist for definitive diagnosis and management. It is the same as a pinched nerve.

Back and rib pain: Could be gastritis/ GERD/with or without H pylori. or as you indicated could be gas from constipation/ food intolerances ( dairy/gluten)  or gallbladder.  Would try maalox (has simethacone for gas),   ranitidine/ prevecid  keep food diary.  Avoid caffeine .alcohol ,soda ,spicy food  increase gastritis and gas.  Should have BM 1 qd eat fiber ( brown rice, lentils, oats,). f/u w/doc

Possibly: This muscle has attachments to the ribs and some strong connective tissue in the lower back.  Pain would be increased with a motion similar to a situp with added twisting motion at the same time.  Muscle strains will improve with time and relative rest.  If no improvement in a few weeks then get checked out by your doc.

i was sick about 6/7 months ago, and was coughing a lot that caused upper rib / back pain. currently i still have that pain, upper left back, upper left rib, and sometimes upper right back, i feel it more if i moves certain directions. strain?cancer?
