Antibody: Alemtuzumab is a humanized monoclonal antibody that is directed against a specific b- lymphocyte ( a type of white blood cells) receptor called cd-52 and used in the treatment of chronic lymphocytic leukemia . All patients receiving this drug should get prophylactic antivirals and antibiotics.

Yes.: Alemtuzumab is a monoclonal antibody directed against a marker on some lymphocytes. It has proven activity against some stages of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (and related diseases) and also on some stages of multiple sclerosis.  Alemtuzumab is the generic name. The formulation for MS has the trade name Lemtrada; the one for CLL has the trade name Campath (alemtuzumab).

it is a monoclonal antibody ( immunoglobulin structure)
a large protein that binds to CD 52 , a surface receptor on mature lymphocytes.

The CD 52 bearing lymphocytes will be targeted for destruction
 
This makes it a drug useful to treat CLL ,(chronic lymphocytic leukemia )
Was withdraw from the markets in 2012 to prepare for a launch of a more expensive drug to treat MS

Not a cure: But clearly one of the most potent meds ever developed for MS.  Yet could be risky, even life threatening.  However, in my research group, most of pts have been disease free for yrs, and take no current meds.  Although not a cure, certainly a valuable therapeutic intervention.

Many types...: Bronchodilators such as albuterol (Ventolin) or levalbuterol (Xopenex) enlarge the diameter of the airways to help air flow and mucus come out of the lungs. Patients with cough-variant asthma, exercise-induced asthma, or regular asthma also use steroid inhalers (such as Flovent) to reduce swelling, mucus, and "sensitivity" in the airways. Singulair is an another medication that can be used.

Approaching: depression wi multiple modalities is best. There are many
things you can do for depression.  Don't isolate. Spend time w people. Use your support system. Get out. Don’t stagnate at home. Work to get 8 hours or &gt; of sleep per night &amp; eat healthfully. Daily aerobic physical activity is a big +.  Recommend the “Feeling Good Book" by Dr. David Burns. Don't just read it - DO IT!

Several: Now that we have studies showing that long-term benefits for interferons and Copaxone are likely minimal at best, and that 60% of pts do not do well by 2 yrs, we are starting to see the emergence of far more potent meds.  Gilenya and tysabri (natalizumab) are here.  Tecfedera is close, lemtrada by end of year.  Daclizumab, ocrelizumab, the newer s-1-p drugs being looked at.  Even new drug for spasticity.
