Worrisome: Changes such as this in the oral cavity should be evaluated immediately due to the concern for cancer or changes to the blood supply.  That said, blackening of the tongue is commonly a side effect of bismuth use for upset stomach. Notably, your histories of anemia, hysterectomy nor burning mouth syndrome would be directly related to tongue discoloration.

Burning tongue: If part of your treatment for h. Pylori included biaxin, (clarithromycin) this is a possible cause of the burning tongue discomfort. Try bathing your tongue with maalox or apply glyoxide drops to it. In addition,take mutivitamin and extra vitamin B 12. If symptoms persist,see your physician who will order appropriate blood tests.

Not likely: Burning tongue can be caused by a variety of things but kissing generally would not be a cause  unless the person you kissed has a transmissable viral disease.

No: There is no known cause of burning tongue, but from what is known..  Prednisone does not cause it.  I would suggest seeing an oral medicine or orofacial pain specialist for treatment.

Not typical: Burning tongue is not a typical side effect of famotidine.  Gerd can certainly cause this.  Talk to your doctor about your symptoms.
