can there be anything i can do to make the burning sensation in the back of my throat stop?

Throat burning: Can be caused by nasal discharge or acid reflux, both of which are quite common.  Because reflux is more likely to burn than post nasal drip, reflux treatment would be the first to try.  You could select from antacids (tums, maalox, etc), zantac or prilosec.  All are available over-the-counter.  Most effective is likely to be prilosec.  If that isn't helpful, try an antihistamine like zrytec.

i had a dry burning sensation in the back of my throat, but now i have thick green and brown mucus in throat, still dry, bad taste, yellow tint tounge?

Run-of-the-Mill: Sounds like you have what i just got over. No biggie. You need more fluids and brush your teeth and tongue twice a day. You may develop other symptoms too, like a cough and headache but it should all blow over in a week or so. Over the counter cold and cough meds should help. If getting progressively worse, however, then you may want to see a doctor, especially if a high fever develops.

Depends: For some simply avoiding caffeine/nicotine &amp; similar aggravating factors will help some. Avoiding laying down after meals can help. Antacid tablets may provide transient relief. When simple measures don't help an evaluation by your doc may show a need for testing and prescription meds.

See your doctor to : make sure that your medications, eyedrops, or any medical disease or condition may not be causing this. Sometimes antihistamines, autoimmune conditions, antidepressants, can cause the mucous membranes in the mouth and throat to feel try. So this needs to be looked into further. Usually an easy solution. May need to change your medication. Or treat your condition differently.

See otolaryngology: An otolaryngologist (ENT) will evaluate your sinuses, oral cavity and pharynx (throat).  This may be related to chronic sinusitis, allergic post nasal drainage, chronic tonsillitis, minor salivary gland inflammation, tobacco use, laryngopharyngeal reflux or other oral conditions related to systemic illness.

: It appears that you're fighting off a viral upper respiratory tract infection. 4 episodes a year is an excessive amount of these infections. Is your home or work environment too dry? Perhaps you'd have better resistance by taking adequate doses of vitamin C daily,washing your hands often and drinking plenty of fluids daily.  An ENT specialist could evaluate and advise you further.

Dr. can check throat: Throat symptoms can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics are needed), a cold or influenza (antibiotics usually not used), or from other causes like allergies, thrush, or irritants, etc... Usually, a person sees the doctor if the sore throat is bothersome, recurrent or doesn't go away quickly (mainly to check for strep). Throat lozenges and acetaminophen can help lessen pain temporarily.

SEe a Dr.: Ulcers in the throat combined with chest pain should be addressed in an urgent care setting. The Dr will do a thorough physical exam and tests to determine what is the underlying cause or causes.
