had tmj and stiff jaw muscles for over a year. recently jaw muscles are twitching-feeling they trying to come back to life - could this be the case?

TMD\TMJ: Twitching is not a good sign nor does it signify a return to normalcy or muscle health. See a local dentist who has extensive training and experience treating patients with tmd	mjoint symptoms. An evaluation along with appropriate recommendations and treatment are warranted if you want to feel better and minimize the likelihood of further problems.

i am feeling indigestion type pain in the solar plexus area of my stomach as well as a nagging pain in my jaw muscles. any ideas what this could be?

Are you grinding: Your teeth? This could be a very simple reason for why your jaw muscles are sore or you could also be clenching a lot. Often associated with stressful life episodes. Don't know about the indigestion, though.

have tight/pressure feeling left jaw/cheek. sometimes around eye/temple. dentist felt & said jaw muscles tight. had for 3.5 weeks. sound like muscles? pcp thinks could be sinuses. have anxiety & really worrying about it. thoughts on possible issues??

Pressure: If you're concerned seek a second, third, forth opinion until you have satisfactory answer.  Have you tried warm compresses to relax the "tight muscles?"  Have you tried an analgesic or a muscle relaxant?  Have you had a medical work-up to asses your sinuses?  If your anxious, be proactive.

Aches &amp; memory: There are lots of possibilities, one of which is Lyme Disease.  Please talk w/your doctor about these symptoms.  Peace and good health.

for the past week, the right side of my neck and head has been feeling tight and sore. sometimes a burning pain. the pain comes and goes. today my lip muscles are twitching a lot. i made a dr. appt for wed. what can i do to reduce the lip twitching?

: It's good that you're to be examined by a physician in a few days. I recommend omitting caffeine. You could try taking a.magnesium supplement recommended by your pharmacist. These measures may reduce the lip twitching in the meantime.

It is difficult: As with any muscle, they tend to become more plump when we use them and tend to atrophy (diminish) when we don't use them. We only use jaw muscles for certain things (chewing), so it's hard to 'not use them'. If you grind (bruxism) or clench your teeth at night, the muscles tend to become more prominent due to excessive use. See a dentist about a diagnosis and treatment.

May be sensitive: If your jaw muscles are irritated from doing a lot of chewing (gum, for example) or from clenching or grinding your teeth, yawning can overstimulate the muscles causing a spasm. This spasm leads to the feeling of tenseness and pain. Try a soft diet for a week or so and see if this helps. You might want to see your dentist as well.

Not a good idea: In general because over-exercising the jaw muscles (masseters, as in case of brad pitt) could end up overloading the chewing apparatus/jaw joint. I'm afraid brad was just naturally endowed unlike most of us!
