how can i avoid little bumps after juvederm injections? i seem to always develop little bumps at the juvederm injection sites. they do go away, but i'd like to avoid getting them in the first place. is there anything i can do?

It : It is not possible to give you an answer without more information. The best thing to do is go back to your injector when you have the bumps and ask them what is going on and how to treat it.

Injection site bumps occur for a variety of reasons. The most common cause of injection site bumps is a small amount of swelling from the needle. This tends to resolve in 24 hours, and can be minimized with ice and light compression after your treatment. If the bumps are due to the filler being injected too superficially, a correction on administration will help as can light massage. Over doing the massage can lead to flattening of your results.

Uh...: I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but some injections may leave a raised portion that will go down over time.  If it is red, hot or painful you should get it checked out.

Yes: Right after the shot there may be an itchy lump on the skin like a hive, anywhere from a pinpoint to a silver dollar size. This is usually normal, although some doctors adjust the dose if it's large. Also, as the dose gets higher, it is common to have a hard, non-tender swelling that develops over a few hours and lasts a few days. This is also normal.

Lump from imm: There is a metal adjuvant ( a component of the vaccine that brings it all together) that can be left in the fat tissue on the way down to the muscle. This can leave a little lump in the leg. It usually resolves over a couple of months and nothing to worry about.

Steriod: This might be a reaction to the medication or the medication may be superficial under the skin. Check with your doctor.

Rashes/bumps: Tough to say and generally impossible to diagnose over the computer.  This could be something simple like a generalized rash to a spider bite, etc. etc.  best to get evaluated and properly diagnosed so the best treatment can occur.  Best wishes.

That depends...: ...Entirely on what substance was injected. Medical grade fillers like Restylane (dermal fillers) and juvederm dissolve within 3-6 months. Some of the longer-lasting fillers, e.g. Calcium hydroxylapatite, can cause lumps, which is why they are not supposed to be used in the lips. Ditto liquid silicone, which can cause permanent lumps. Your friend will have to find out what it was from whoever did the injecting.

i regurally donate plasma and platelets.  since my last donation, i have a small bump at the injection site.  its been a few weeks, now.  common?

HEMATOMA: Following blood drawing it is not uncommon to form a hematoma at the injection site.  This is due to some leakage of blood around the needle.  The blood becomes trapped under the skin and can form a hard area.  This will resolve over several weeks.  Warm compresses to the area will help it to dissolve.
