Brown discharge is: Usually old blood fromuterus. Normally yeast infections don't cause bleeding. But, if the vaginal tissues became raw and irritated enough, it could cause some minimal bleeding. Symptoms of a yeast infection may include: burning, redness ; itching of the vulva; burning with urination ; vaginal intercourse ; a clumpy, white, vaginal discharge with no odor. Sometimes discharge isn’t apparent.

Colored vaginal discharge (yellow, greenish, brown, etc) often means infection, which at your age often is due to STD (if you are sexually active). Was your yeast infection professionally diagnosed? Get tested: Brown discharge is often old blood. Yeast infections are not caused by the use of both control pills. Vaginal odor can be caused by bacterial vaginosis, trichomoniasis or other infections. Infection testing with a doctor is the way to determine what is going on.

Probably not: Brown vaginal discharge is usually older, deoxygenated blood from the uterus. Bleeding does not usually occur from yeast infections - althought there could sometimes be a small amoutn of blood.  It isn't that likely that this is due to a yeast infection.
