It is ok: The stool can go through color changes on a daily basis, mainly dependent on the foods that you eat.  If the stool color is consistently an abnormal color, independent of your diet, then follow with a doctor for further evaluation.  It could be the sign of a malabsorption issue.

: It may due to movement of gas in the intestine. for constipation - You may take a fiber laxative like Metamucil and drink enough water daily so that your urine is colorless. For the long term you may try to increase your intake of fiber foods. Consult this site for fiber foods.

On or in ?: The color of stool, from green through yellows and browns is unimportant. If the blood is bright red, it comes from near the outlet and usually represents a scratch in the outlet. Bulky or hard stools often cause this. If it is darker red or purple and mixed within the stool it may represent an infectious process. Check with his doc.

Blood not normal: Bloody stools are not normal and should be evaluated by your doctor.  Bright green poop may be caused by infection, excessive bilirubin, diet, or dyes in food.  My son worried me when he had the most beautiful sea-foam green poop as a baby.  We found out it was from his cousin's popcorn in the school colors-- blue and yellow.  Regardless, you should see your doctor for an evaluation of the blood.

Maybe.: Color change in stools can be the result of many things: diet, illnesses, and then the last category: who knows.  Sometimes a kid's stool changes color for a week or two then changes back, and the kid is just fine.  If your child has a fever or looks really uncomfortable, stomach pain, vomiting, etc. Then see your doctor.  Otherwise, it's not urgent and give it another week.

Local bleeding.: That would usually indicate a bleeding source right at the exit, such as a hemorrhoid or anal fissure.  Fissures usually cause tremendous pains as the stool is passing through.

Hello. : Hello. I canâ€™t diagnose the reason for your sonâ€™s bright lime green poop. However any thing which causes the feces to transit his system too quickly could cause it to turn green.  Bile is yellowish green and it digests fat. As the bile goes through the gut, it turns from green to brown from enzyme action. If it goes through the colon too quickly, there isnâ€™t time for that to occur and the feces are green. Additionally, the fast transit time prevents fluids from being properly reabsorbed through the colon and so the feces is usually loose or liquid as well.  Here is a list of possible causes for green feces to peruse: malabsorption, overgrowth of the wrong types of bacteria in the gut (sometimes caused by antibiotics), medication side effects, celiac disease crohnâ€™s disease and iron supplements.  Of course anything with green food coloring can be a cause. This is just a small sampling of possible causes. Good luck with this. Take care.

Yes, it is: It could be related to your diet, or medications you take. It is also related the transit time of the digested  food in your bowel . Increased transit time  can bring out green stool.
